Describe what a typical day at work involves?
There's no such thing as a typical day in Customer Service but the majority of my day is spent arranging for client's remedial items to be attended to which involves talking to our sub-contractors, making appointments and organising the Maintenance diary.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the variety. I like the sense of satisfaction I get when clients take the time to thank us for our efforts.
What do you enjoy most about working at CALA?
My colleagues definitely make my job more enjoyable and if I'm having a bad day I can always rely on them to make me laugh! There is a good team spirit in the Customer Service Department.
What would you say to someone who is considering applying for a job at CALA?
CALA is a great company to work for. If you work hard then your efforts will be rewarded. Our Year End celebrations are good fun as well!
What advice would you give someone who is starting out in your field?
You need to be a good listener, have lots of patience and be good at prioritising your workload.
What training do you need to do your job?
Although I have a degree in Psychology, I would say that practical experience in dealing with customers is just as important.
What’s the strangest work situation you have been in / dealt with?
I have had some strange requests from clients. The strangest must have been a lady who demanded that shrubs we had planted in the development were removed as they attracted bees & she had a phobia of bees.
What was the last album you bought?
Newton Faulkner's album is brilliant. I'm also a fan of anything 'old skool'. Best listened to very loud whilst driving!
What book are you currently reading?
I know I'm a bit behind the times but I've just started the Harry Potter books. I'm currently on book number 2. Just hoping no one spoils the big ending for me!
Other than your current job, what would be your dream job?
I love a good movie so I'd be a film critic............ or an extreme sports instructor.
Which person, living or dead, do you most admire and why?
I admire anyone who sticks to their principles and follows their dreams.
