CALA Homes (East) has underlined its commitment to quality contemporary design with the opening of three new show homes at Hopefield in Bonnyrigg, Grovewood Hill, Edinburgh, and Forest Park, Peebles.

The award-winning premium housebuilder has launched a four-bedroom Carlton-style show home at Hopefield, which is located just six miles from Edinburgh amidst the scenic countryside of Midlothian.

It follows sales success at the Bonnyrigg development comprising a mix of four and five bedroom detached and semi-detached homes, chic two bedroom mews, four bedroom townhouses and stylish one and two bedroom apartments.

For Sarah Stanger, Sales and Marketing Director at CALA, the new show home illustrates the careful attention to detail in the high specification finishes and the feeling of spaciousness which result from CALA Homes’ impressive standards of design input into each new house.

“There’s a tremendous choice of competitively priced homes at Hopefield and all benefit from the excellent semi-rural location which is so close to Edinburgh. Such a special development demands a show home with an extraordinary interior design.

"This show home, created by John Amabile and Carol Yates at Amabile Design, is a wonderfully elegant and stylish home, and really brings the potential of the stunning modern homes at Hopefield to life.”
Carol Yates adds:

“The show home is not only very spacious, well designed and contemporary, but there is significant natural light and flexibility. This combination ensures a strong design statement with every room enjoying a slightly different character so that visitors can see the real beauty of this home and how their own tastes might be reflected in it.”

The large dining and living room, which extends the width of the property and opens onto decking in the rear garden, and the master bedroom, truly boast the wow factor.

With its rich palette of black, silver and ochre, striking L-shaped sofa, the living room gives a brief nod to Art Deco whilst feature mirrors adding further depth and space to an already generously proportioned room and sculptural furniture give it a contemporary twist.

The master bedroom is inspired by Hollywood glamour. From the old fashioned trunks of yesteryear, here updated with mirrors and black leather inserts, extravagant mirrored headboard, satin bed throws and sumptuous silk curtains to the colour palette of dark chocolate, black, metallics and toffee, this room oozes with sheer indulgence.

Then there’s the delightfully uplifting second bedroom with its bright acidic green accents, lacquered furniture and fuchsia floral print curtains and the cooler pace of the third bedroom with its soothing aqua and white Mediterranean colours and eye-catching transparent ‘Louis’ ‘Ghost’ chair. Or, the fourth bedroom or study, here decked out with a black and chrome Le Corbusier sofa, candy pink walls and funky pink Andy Warhol prints of Marilyn Monroe.

Meanwhile, CALA has also unveiled a new Dunbar show home at Grovewood Hill, Craigmount, Edinburgh.

Grovewood Hill features a collection of three storey family homes, modern apartments, mews properties and detached house-types in a leafy parkland setting close to the city centre and countryside beyond the capital.

The four-bedroom detached Dunbar show home has been created by John Amabile and Carol Yates at Amabile Design, which has built up a reputation for using only the highest-quality furniture and furnishings.

John says: "In creating the show home, we have combined traditional quality with contemporary elegance.

"The living room has soft metallic tones with just a hint of art deco while we have adopted an airy approach to the dining room, completing the look with an impressive walnut timber dining table.

"This show home echoes the contemporary feel of Grovewood Hill, which appeals to homebuyers of all ages. This is a great parallel with our own ethos of using only the highest quality cutting edge modern furniture and furnishings."

The master bedroom, with the sumptuous velvet and silk furnishings and Moroccan style and shape, is one of the highlights of the show home while the two bedrooms are suitably themed for the younger members of the family.

With house-type names chosen to reflect the leafy environment and countryside beyond, it is easy to see why Grovewood Hill is set to become one of the city's most popular new residential areas. As well as stunning architecture, the development features an acre of leafy parkland (including a children's play area) at its heart.

Finally, a new Jameson show home has been launched at the popular Forest Park development in Peebles.

CALA is currently building a collection of detached family homes at Forest Park on the south side of the town.

Tucked away in the peaceful Tweed Valley, the attractive new Forest Park development from CALA borders the exclusive Bonnington Road area in Peebles, combining a prestigious location with equally prestigious family homes.

Sian Woodfine of Marren Interiors, enlisted by CALA to create the interior of the four bedroom show home, explains that the aim was to design a classic look which would appeal to a wide range of potential buyers.

"This is all about a commitment to meticulous design, everyday luxury living, contemporary character and sophisticated exteriors.

"The interior has been inspired by art deco, but finished with a contemporary twist. I did not want to be too prescriptive, but embrace the flexibility with a classic theme finished with a contemporary edge."

Visitors entering the large hall are led to the dual aspect living room with its dramatic black feature wall and shades of grey and white.

The dining room is a wonderful combination of black and cobalt blue, offering a striking and breath-taking finish. Meanwhile, the kitchen's focal point is a stunning wallpaper mural.

Upstairs, the master bedroom includes a dressing room and en-suite with the addition of the cobalt blue completing the stunning look.

Both the second and third bedrooms are themed for children while the final bedroom is modelled on that of a boutique hotel with smart neutral feel.

The beautifully landscaped gardens and light and spacious interiors, featuring galleried landings, clever down-lighting, all contribute to ideal living amid idyllic surroundings.
