Award Winning Glasgow Development
20 Sep 2005
CALA Properties has secured the tenancy of yet another corporate tenant at its award winning development, Clydesdale Bank Exchange in Glasgow.
Weir Group will relocate around 30 executive and support staff from its site in Cathcart, Glasgow to the £30 million, Grade A office development and will occupy the 4th floor which extends to 13,292 sq ft.
With only one floor remaining to be filled Clydesdale Bank Exchange has been the fillip in Glasgow’s redeveloped International Financial Services District and indicates strong demand for the best Grade A office space in the City.
The first tenants were consultants and actuaries, Hymans Robertson whose Scottish Headquarters occupy two floors (26,250 sq ft) then in March of this year Clydesdale Bank located their Financial Solutions Centre over three floors (36,649 sq ft).
Weir Group’s Chief Executive Mark Selway commented “The city centre location, and specification of the building were key factors in our decision to relocate here and we are pleased that Clydesdale Bank Exchange meets all our requirements for our corporate headquarters.”
Alasdair MacConnell, Managing Director CALA Properties said; “Clydesdale Bank Exchange has been the unmitigated success in speculative office development in Glasgow for a number of years. We have secured three high profile tenants and interest remains strong in the one remaining floor.”
He added “CALA Properties are continuing to grow and secure exciting projects in the commercial property market; Clydesdale Bank Exchange signals the ambitions we have in being one of the leading players in the UK.”
