Holly McWilliam and Emma GelatiHolly McWilliam, a P6 pupil at the school, was crowned the winning artist after submitting a colourful drawing of herself and her bike relaxing under a tree. The picture illustrates Holly enjoying the Deeside scenery with homes in the background. Holly won £100 of vouchers for Hobbycraft.

Pupils at Milltimber Primary School were invited to capture what Deeside means to them on paper using any materials they wished.

The winner and five finalists will have their drawings framed and proudly displayed in the luxury housebuilder’s Milltimber Grange sales suite at its Oldfold Village development in Milltimber.

Fraser Carr, Sales and Marketing Director of CALA Homes (North), said: “We received 195 fantastic entries from pupils at Milltimber Primary School.

“With our Oldfold Village development situated in Milltimber, the competition was a great opportunity for us to gain an insight into how local children view their neighbourhood.

“Milltimber is an idyllic pocket of Aberdeen and these creative drawings will certainly showcase the breath-taking scenery to anyone visiting our sales suite.”

Dorothy Hagan, Head Teacher at Milltimber Primary School, said: “Our pupils loved taking part in CALA’s competition. It gave them the opportunity to think about what they love most about living in the area.

“I’m very proud that the winning drawing will be displayed alongside the finalists for the local community to see.”
