Key stage two pupils were tasked with designing a ‘welcome to your new home’ card for purchasers at CALA Homes’ Wicken Lea development in Newport. The designs were submitted to an independent judging panel, who selected Tabitha, who is in the Otter class, as the winner.
In addition to seeing her winning design bought to life, Tabitha also received a £50 gift voucher while two runners up each received a £25 gift card for their designs. Certificates were also sent to all participating pupils to congratulate them for their hard work and creativity.
Chris Roads, Sales and Marketing Director for CALA Homes (North Home Counties), said: “At CALA Homes, we are committed to creating a positive legacy in the communities in which we build, and working together with local schools such as Newport Primary School is just one way we try to achieve this.
“We were thrilled with the hard work and dedication shown by all the pupils and choosing one winner from all the amazing designs was an incredibly difficult task. Tabitha’s bright and colourful design particularly caught our eye and we know it will be a lovely way to welcome new homeowners at Wicken Lea. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the pupils who took part.”
Keeley Chandler, Deputy Head Teacher at Newport Primary School, comments: “The pupils were extremely excited to take part in the design competition with CALA Homes and couldn’t wait to put pen to paper. We are incredibly proud of the creativity shown by all the pupils and would like to thank CALA for the children’s prizes and certificates. Tabitha is very excited to see her design bought to life at Wicken Lea.”
An impressive development of three, four and five bedroom family homes, Wicken Lea is located to the north of the thriving village of Newport and is accessed off Bury Water Lane.
