Nick Twine will be responsible for CALA’s regional operating businesses covering the Midlands, Thames and North Home Counties while James Lidgate will oversee Chiltern and South Home Counties.
Both will play a key role in driving forward ambitious growth plans for CALA in England as it aims to significantly increase its presence in premium locations across the Midlands and the South East.
Nick Twine has over 30 years’ experience in the housebuilding sector and joined CALA as a regional managing director in 2014. He was responsible for more than tripling the turnover of the company’s Thames region, achieving a five star rating for customer service and launching flagship sites including a new development of 2000 homes and community facilities in Winchester.
James Lidgate has nearly 20 years’ experience in the housebuilding sector and was most recently CEO of Legal & General Homes and director of housing for L&G Capital. He was responsible for setting up the L&G Homes business in 2015, along with separate build to rent and strategic land and major projects divisions. The move to his new role follows the acquisition of CALA by Legal & General in 2018.
Kevin Whitaker, CALA’s chief executive, comments: “We’re delighted to have two individuals of Nick and James’ calibre in these roles. These are key appointments for the CALA business at a significant point in the growth of the company. We are committed to investing in our regional businesses as we further expand our presence in England and I looking forward to working with Nick, James and our regional teams to deliver on our future plans.”
