They work closely with our Construction departments to make sure the correct levels and quality of labour and materials are being provided to our construction sites.
To join the Commercial team you will need to be confident with numbers and people. You will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or similar and be able to work to strict deadlines. You will need to have a good understanding of all current IT applications.

A day in the life of Jon Jones - Commercial Manager, Midlands
8.00am – Review e-mails and discuss programme of works with the commercial team for the forthcoming developments. These would typically be issues around tendering for jobs, procurement and contractor issues.
8.30am – Continue to work on documents for sites scheduled to start in the next financial year. This means updating viability appraisals based on our build costs, build programme and sales profile, for Executive Board level approval.
12.00pm – Management meeting with respective heads of departments. We review and discuss progress on forecast sites, key date schedule for completions, existing site risks and sales forecasts.
2.00pm – Interview a potential candidate for a new Surveyor to join the team
3.00pm - Sign off any orders and payments generated by the commercial team
4.00pm – Review standard costs for viabilities
5.30pm – Finish
