Richard - Senior Quantity Surveyor

CALA Homes (Midlands)

I started my working life as a bricklayer on various CALA projects in the Midlands but decided that I wanted to go down a different path. I looked into the option of starting a career as a surveyor and was extremely lucky that CALA offered to support me through my qualification.

I became a Trainee Quantity Surveyor in 2014, before completing my studies in 2016. I’ve spent the last four years working hard to develop my skills and knowledge of the role, and have never looked back. Not only did CALA support me while studying, but I’ve also been offered numerous in-house training courses to help with my continued progression within the company.

Over the years, I have watched CALA’s success and its employees thrive because of it, which is why I thoroughly enjoy the work I do and the good working relationship our team has. From working for CALA as a tradesmen to my work today as a surveyor, it’s testament to how CALA values its employees and their development within the workplace.
