CALA Homes raises over £12,000 for chosen charity Isabel Hospice
CALA Homes North Homes Counties has raised a staggering £12,285 at a charity golf day for its chosen charity, Isabel Hospice.
29 June 2016
The event was held at Old Fold Manor Golf Club in Barnet and 88 players took part including CALA employees, sub-contractors and consultants.
Darren Dockerill, Construction Director for CALA Homes North Homes Counties comments, “We would like to thank all our teams for taking part in our charity golf day and helping us raise such a large amount of money for a very worthwhile charity. This is the second year we have held a charity golf day for Isabel Hospice and to raise more than double last years’ total is a fantastic achievement.
“Isabel Hospice does an amazing job providing free care and support for patients and their families living with life limiting illnesses. We are delighted with the contribution we have been able to make to the hospice and would like to thank everyone involved for their generosity.”
Laura Pigott, Community Fundraiser for Isabel Hospice said, “We are thrilled that CALA Homes has raised so much money for Isabel Hospice and their ongoing support is very much appreciated. The amount raised by the golf day could pay for 455 hours of nursing care at our in-patient unit or 146 sessions at one of our day services; enabling patients to see a nurse, chat to other patients or get involved in some of the art and craft activities available.”
Isabel Hospice provides free care and support for patients and their families living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses throughout eastern Hertfordshire. It was founded in 1982 by a number of dedicated people inspired by Isabel Last, who herself had cancer, with the aim of providing palliative care and support to any adult with a life-limiting disease.
