The upmarket housebuilder has now started work on the riverside development off Abbey Road in Oxford.
CALA will be building an exclusive collection of just 12 homes, including six three and four bedroom townhouses, with approximately 2,100 sq ft. of interior space spread over three floors. Rear gardens will provide ample space for families to use and enjoy, with the homes also overlooking the river. The development will also include six much-needed one and two bedroom affordable apartments, with a proportion of the properties being allocated for shared ownership.
CALA has a great deal of experience in creating attractive new homes that blend seamlessly into the locations they are built in, and the new homes off Abbey Road will be no exception. The homes have been designed to complement their surroundings, using a high quality palette of traditional materials, including stock brick and slate roof tiles.
Over £13,000 has also been allocated towards community improvements, via a CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) payment. The council will distribute funds where it feels it is most needed, be it improving local infrastructure, educational establishments, leisure facilities or towards public transport services.
Duncan Klitgaard, Land and Planning Director at CALA Homes Chiltern, comments: “We’re delighted to receive planning approval for our development off Abbey Road. There is high demand for new housing in the area, and we have designed an attractive development that I’m sure will be popular.
“Work has already started in site, and we’re expecting the first completions in September 2017, so it is full steam ahead.”
