East Kilbride Community Transport received £1,250 from CALA’s Community Bursary in 2018.
The non-profit organisation helps hundreds of people in East Kilbride take to the roads, getting them out and about within the community. EK Community Transport offers assistance to local primary and secondary schools, youth groups, church groups, women’s guilds, sheltered housing and care homes and groups with additional support needs across the town.
The cash boost aided the group to continue serving those in the town with no access to conventional public transport services due to accessibility, affordability or safety and security concerns.
