Friends of Benson Primary School (FoBS) was awarded £2,300 from CALA’s Community Bursary in 2018.

The parent-teacher association of around 50 members comes together throughout the year to organise social and fundraising events for children and the community. It aims to enhance the educational experience of all Benson C of E Primary School pupils and their families, raising funds to further the school’s investment in the provision of an excellent education, both inside and outside the classroom.

Using the funding, FoBS has been able to develop the outdoor forest area with new equipment, games and musical instruments. The area will be used as part of lessons to support all areas of the curriculum and for pupils to enjoy at their leisure during lunchtime.
