Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity received £1,000 from CALA’s Community Bursary in 2018.
Formed in 2001 by Dame Vera Lynn, the charity was set up to deliver an early intervention service at Ingfield Manor School for families with very young children with cerebral palsy and other motor impairment.
The charity offers a range of activities using a movement-based educational approach to enable children to have more control over their posture and mobility, as well as helping to develop their social and communicative skills.
The cash boost was put towards funding their music therapy sessions which are proven to benefit children with the disability.
