We believe that good communication is a key ingredient in keeping our people informed and engaged. We provide frequent updates on company developments, news and financial performance via e-mail, our intranet and regular staff briefings.
Individually and collectively, our directors visit our operating regions and sites frequently and engage with employees on a one-to-one basis in order to get feedback from our people and keep their finger on the pulse of the business.
In 2017, we ran an independent, company-wide survey which showed that 88% of our people are proud to work for CALA, 86% feel passionate about CALA’s culture and 94% understood how their individual role contributes to CALA’s success.
In 2016/17 we invested more in training and developing our people than ever before, significantly increased our e-learning provision and doubled our investment in supporting our staff through further and higher education qualifications.
We are committed to playing our part in encouraging people into our industry and addressing a national skills shortage. We are active with both The Prince’s Trust and the Home Building Skills Partnership. CALA also runs an apprenticeship scheme and a graduate development programme.
