The Prince's Trust
Established in 1976, CALA is proud to have been a Gold Patron of The Prince’s Trust since 2015. The charity gives vulnerable and disadvantaged young people across the UK the chance to build themselves a brighter future.
In 2016/17 we continued our involvement in The Prince’s Trust ‘Get into Construction’ programme, which provides the skills, training and work experience that disadvantaged young people need to get into employment. 12 Prince’s Trust apprentices were given the opportunity to work on CALA developments, with nine going on to secure apprenticeships.
In 2017, CALA also took part in The Prince’s Trust TEAM programme. This included a World of Work day, with a group of young people visiting our Parklands development in Reading before spending time at our English head office where they received practical advice on interview techniques and CV writing.
The CALA team has really embraced the charity, raising over £63,000 by undertaking exploits such as the Three Peaks Challenge, the Palace to Palace bike ride and the Centurion Challenge, as well as holding fundraising golf days and taking part in individual and team fundraising activities.
We look forward to continuing our work with The Prince’s Trust in 2018 with a full programme of activities planned, including the opportunity for more CALA employees to get involved in volunteering and mentoring schemes.
