A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy.

In March, we took the decision to temporarily close our sites and offices, to protect the health of our team, our customers, and to support the Government’s aim to slow the spread of coronavirus and protect the NHS.

Recently, we have been working through our plans for returning to construction activities in England. With every decision we are making, the health of our team, our customers and wider society continues to be at the forefront of our thinking.

Our site management team will begin to return to work from 11th May to implement new safety procedures and social distancing measures, before our subcontractor partners return thereafter.

Restarting our sites is not straightforward; our approach will be phased and the level of activity will differ on a site by site basis. In all instances, the construction activity will be under strict social distancing measures, in order to keep our team and local communities safe.

Our approach in the coming weeks will be to deliver for our existing customers; those awaiting completion of their new CALA home, and we will do everything we can to be flexible around individual circumstances.

We would like to thank our customers for their understanding and patience while we implement this new way of working. Our team will be in touch on the progress of each home.

A similar return to work programme will be implemented in Scotland, at the appropriate time.

As I have said before, we have an incredibly dedicated team across CALA, who give a huge amount of energy and passion to make what we do possible. I am confident that our team will continue to guide our customers, colleagues and partners through the weeks ahead with care and compassion.  

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by the virus and we hugely value the healthcare workers who are working tirelessly to keep us safe – thank you.
