We understand the ever-growing importance of minimising the negative impact that our operations and developments have on the world around us. This means ensuring that our effect on local wildlife and waterways is considered throughout the design and construction process.
Cala has worked with experts to produce an Urban Wildlife Strategy, a biodiversity policy and a water efficiency standard. At each site, the unique characteristics of the location are further considered to make sure that we are delivering the best possible solution.
The delivery of high-quality greenspace is already a priority for Cala and is proven to bring physical and mental health benefits to our customers and local communities. We know we can do more and by the end of 2022, our goal is to have formulated a strategy and action plan to enhance biodiversity across our sites.
Our Thames region have recently launched their Urban Wildlife Strategy.
We now divert 100% of our construction waste away from landfill, ahead of our target and reduced our construction waste intensity by 10% since 2021. Not only are we creating developments with more sustainable features, we're making sure our process to build these is also more sustainable.
