Kirkton Farm, Cardross

Planning application approved

Cala Homes (West) continues to promote the delivery of the land at Kirkton Farm in Cardross that is allocated for housing development by Argyll and Bute Council.

Our planning application was approved by Argyll and Bute Council on 14 October 2025.

This approval brings together permissions that had already been granted, including our successful planning appeal in March 2025 and an earlier application to update the plans for the road improvements linked to the development. These updates ensure the proposed road works meet the Council's requirements.

Cala are delighted with this positive progress and will continue working closely with Argyll and Bute Council to secure the remaining approvals needed to deliver this much-needed new housing development.

The development will deliver 118 much needed homes, ranging from one-bedroom cottage flats to five-bedroom family homes, which includes 25% for Dunbritton Housing Association, at the site on the northern edge of the town between Darleith Road and Barrs Road.

The new development, Darleigh Meadows, will provide dedicated on-site parking for homeowners and guests, as well as generous provision of high quality landscaping and open space - including a village green and play park. The landscaping and green spaces on the site will help to improve local biodiversity for residents and the wider community to enjoy.

Cala is committed to creating sustainable developments that serve the needs of homebuyers and provide local benefit through employment, council tax contributions and economic value.

In addition to this, as part of our Community Pledge initiative, Cala will seek to work with local charities and organisations to address genuine local needs within the Cardross community through bespoke projects, such as donations, volunteering time, activities, delivering school programmes and much more. To enquire about Cala's Community Pledge and submit a request for support, please complete our form here.

We are currently targeting the start of the enabling works in 2026, with first residents welcomed in 2027.
