CALA Homes (East) Ltd is delighted to be able to confirm our latest investment in Midlothian at Millerhill, comprising; 620 Homes (including 25% Affordable), new link road from Old Craighall Road to the Millerhill junction on the City of Edinburgh Bypass, provision of Primary School land, land for a Park and Ride, and community allotments.

Background

Planning Permissions for the site were issued on 17^th April 2023.

Phasing

Work commenced on 7^th August 2023, with access from Old Craighall Road.

In order to implement the upgrade works to Old Craighall Road, and associated drainage works, a temporary closure of Old Craighall Road commenced on 6^th September 2023.

Ongoing Updates - November 2023

The road closure has now been extended until 15th December 2023.

The reopening has been delayed owing to location of shallow watermain conflicting with the approved design, and opportunity to undertake further works that will reduce overall duration of the balance of the works when operating under traffic light control.

Prentice Travel will continue to operate the temporary bus service 151, which will be paid by CALA.

The road will be fully open over the festive period. Traffic will be under signal control from 8th January 2024 on a rolling programme of road works.

The initial section of District Heating pipework has been laid and is now in place across Old Craighall Road.
