Cala’s interior design team have selected 10 local businesses to inspire our latest showhomes. From artists to booksellers, boutiques and artisan retailers, our Showhome of Support initiative allows us to support locally, and showcases wonderful local businesses to visitors and homeowners.
Stay Safe, Stay Away offers primary schools an interactive session covering the history of building houses as well as the variety of fantastic and varied career opportunities within the industry, as well educating pupils about the dangers of going into construction areas unsupervised.
As demand for food increases across the UK, more families than ever are relying on Community Groceries for affordable food. To help keep their shelves stocked, we teamed up with the Waterbeach Food bank throughout the month of June and donated a range of grocery items from tinned food, pasta, cereal items and toiletries.
Sustainability is something we’re building our future on at Cala, and we will be a business that leaves a positive legacy for both people and the planet. As part of our strategy for reducing our environmental impact, we have made a commitment to make the most of opportunities to support urban wildlife throughout all our new developments. Our Urban Wildlife Strategy outlines our plans to incorporate biodiversity improvement measures into every new home we build. It does not represent the extent of our aspirations from a biodiversity and habitat creation perspective, but instead looks to establish a baseline of urban wildlife measures on our homes, regardless of what our planning permission asks for.
Land To Life is a curriculum-based schools project aimed at 7-11 year olds. The comprehensive suite of teachers’ notes and detailed lesson plans aims to educate children on how new communities are created, from land acquisition through to sales and marketing.
