Cala’s interior design team will select 10 local businesses to inspire our latest showhome. From artists to booksellers, boutiques and artisan retailers, our Showhome of Support initiative allows us to support locally, and showcases wonderful local businesses to visitors and homeowners.
Stay Safe, Stay Away offers primary schools an interactive session covering the history of building houses as well as the variety of fantastic and varied career opportunities within the industry, as well educating pupils about the dangers of going into construction areas unsupervised.
Protect and enhance existing and new wildlife habitats within the site, protect species including hedgehogs, birds, bats, reptiles, invertebrates as well as native flora, and green open spaces which includes an ecological protection area, a childrens’ play area and a pond.
Land To Life is a curriculum-based schools project aimed at 7-11 year olds. The comprehensive suite of teachers’ notes and detailed lesson plans aims to educate children on how new communities are created, from land acquisition through to sales and marketing.
We donated up to £4k worth of furniture items from our showhome in Hampton Lakes to the Care Zone project which serves the most vulnerable people in Peterborough. Furniture is used to help individuals and families find a solution to the housing crisis they find themselves in, and all furniture is given away for free. Care Zone work across the city to support people in their time of need and their vision is for Peterborough to be a place where every house is a home, and everyone has access to furniture for their family.

Jess Amy Designs: an artist who creates handmade items from ordinary everyday things such as stamps and food product labels.
J Jones Deli: a 100-year-old family-run butchers
Alina Creates: a print shop established during lockdown in 2020 that sells customisable wall art prints, cards and stationery
Up the Garden Bath: Community Interest business that works with local businesses to reduce waste and landfill
Harvest Barn Farm Shop: sells locally sourced produce
Tee’s Bees Honey: local honey producer
Parkers News: local newsagent in Whittlesey that delivers local and national newspapers and magazines to residents’ doorsteps, helping the elderly and those with mobility restrictions.
Bless Full: self-care business that produces and sells handmade haircare and skincare products made from 100% natural ingredients.
